Lomo Saltado

 

 

How to:


Step 1:
Season the Beef: Season the beef strips with salt and pepper.

Step 2:
Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned (about 1-2 minutes per side).

Step 3:
Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil. Add the sliced onion and cook for 1-2 minutes, just until slightly softened. Add the tomato and yellow chili (if using), and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes. The vegetables should be cooked but still have some crunch.

Step 4:
Add Seasonings: Return the beef to the skillet. Add soy sauce, vinegar, and beef broth, and stir everything together. Let the ingredients simmer for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 5:
Add the fresh French fries either on the side or mixed in. Garnish with chopped cilantro.

Step 6:
Optional: Serve with white rice for a more complete meal.
